Node Fair Trade Rugs

Node Rugs was born when designer Chris Haughton visited Nepal in 2010 to connect with fair trade groups there and collaborate on projects. When his designs became popular through social media and design blogs many other high profile designers got in touch and where connected through Node to the craftspeople in Nepal. This project has resulted in some fantastic bespoke rugs that I am not ashamed to say that I am gushing all over and long to adorn my house.

Few words from the company....
"We are a non-profit social business. Our aim is to make as much impact for fair trade as we can. We work with the worlds best designers and illustrators and convert their images into the highest quality hand-made fair trade carpets.
We aim to connect a worldwide network of designers and artists with traditional Nepalese carpet makers to create beautiful handmade rugs.
Our rug makers, Kumbeshwar are a founder member of Fair Trade Nepal. Employees are taught literacy and skills. In addition to fair wages their work supports a school of 260 children and an orphanage of nineteen."

Seems almost a shame to walk on them really...
